Life Trivia: Honest Customers Deserve Good Service

Growing up in Southeast Asia and living abroad in North America, I’m very fortunate to have the opportunity to blend myself so that I can observe cultural and social differences and learn from both sides. I’m going to talk about Canadian impressive customer service today as one of those differences, and Domino’s Pizza is an example. In case you ask, Domino’s pizza is just one of hundreds of pizza stores you can find in Canada (in over the world too). After 3.5 years living in Canada, I’m still feeling special and honor whenever buying goods from real Canadian vendors like I did from day one. I have to stress “real Canadian” to distinguish with thousands of stores of minorities such as Chinese, Filipino, Indian or so on. I love the way Canadian vendors respect and believe in their customers. They let customers choose to be honest.

My Blog is Two Year Old – Happy Second Birthday!

One more year has passed. Compared with last year, this year, I could make just about 20 posts. That is a modest number, but it is still able to show my effort and determination to maintain my cyber space here. My life has turned to many important pages just in one year. Those changes are the main factors occupying all of my time budget. Therefore, the time left for this space is also cut short. Anyway,  I can keep going on with my stories below. For now, happy second birthday to my dear blog!

Summer Goodness: Strawberries Picking at Stoneheaven Farms

Compared to winter, summer in Canada is pretty short; therefore, it's very precious. We've been so busy these days, but we were still able to make a short trip to a local farm to firstly enjoy the summer day-out, and secondly do some strawberries picking for fun. We had a very nice trip at Stonehaven Farms. The farm was pretty large, and there were like just fewer than 20 people around. We really love it! No crowd, no mess!

School time, once again: Online studying and Canadian Bridging Program

My blog is getting a fewer posts in the last couple of months regardless of my great effort to keep it up with at least one or two posts per month. It has been also awhile since my last update on studying journey. Therefore, this post will make a brief summary on what is happening at my side.

I'm in love with Ukulele

First of all, HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR to my friends and family. A year past, a year of dragon, a year of pain, yet also a year of joy and success. May the new year, a year of snake, bring you health, happiness and prosperity.

Secondly, I'll introduce you to my new love, Ukulele.

Let the music heal your soul

I've been keen on music heavily recently and therefore I cannot refrain myself from sharing some of melodies here (I swear I tried so much to hold it on but I cannot bear any longer, LOL). Maybe this is also one of good signals for my guitar journey, who knows? Anyways, let me tour you through some of them here. I cannot help myself but keep repeating them again, again and again whenever sitting down with my computer. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

First snow storm, winter is finally here!

Just want to share some pictures of the first snow storm right after X'mas here. Snow slows down my steps, snow is cold, but snow is fun :). I love snow and the old winter man!

Hello December!

Hello December! It's time for holiday shopping and preparation. I doubt that I can prepare anything this year though. Life's been so busy these days! However, it's still fantastic to think about the big upcoming holiday. How about you?

Anyway, this entry will sum up my November, it's not about the holiday tho, excuse me if I misled you :).

Self-study, self-organizing and self-push are the strongest power for life

Today I just walked through the video titled "Shimon Schocken: The self-organizing computer course" on TED.com and I cannot refrain myself from sharing it on my blog.

Once in a blue moon

Inspired by the great moon today, I feel like having some fun with my modest pictures and I ended up with this post. It's just a random moment and if my memory served me right, it may be called blue moon too. Enjoy!

My Blog is One Year Old – Happy First Birthday!

Time flies. It was just like yesterday but one year passed. From the very first days, I setup this blog with the only purpose: reviewing books I read. However, day by day, more and more targets were included. My little cyber home now also takes care of studying journeys and food findings. One year ago, on August 1st, 2011, the first post was published. Now, after 1 year sharp, there are totally 74 posts. The number is modest but still, it's not nothing. I’ve been trying to have at least 1 post per week. With 74 posts for 52 weeks, I can call it a success and I’m at least catching up the goal well.
Happy first birthday to my dear blog!

Father's Day 2012: Daughter's wishes to Daddy and Daddy's Songs for Daughter

Father's day is here and like any other daughters in over the world, I also want to send my special love and best wishes for my beloved daddy. Absolutely there is not only Father's day, but every day he's always in my mind.  He's with me for every single step; he was the FIRST MAN in my life. Even though I'm living away from him, he's still here with me in my heart. I missed him in my important day of life; however, if he were there, he would happily give my hand to my man and bless us too. He's the generous man who would give me ALL THE BEST THINGS IN THE WORLD for nothing back. I love him!

Summer trip and wormhome one year anniversary at Niagara Fall

Worm family had a great trip to Niagara Fall area in the last week of May. Let's share some pictures here to keep the good moments. Actually, this time, my camera was out of battery pretty early since we recorded a couple of videos [video recording costs more battery and space than picture taking]. Plus, the camera lenses weren't properly cleaned (so embarrassed me!). I guess I need to take care of my camera better even though it's an old-age one but it's still my best friend though. Those were the reasons that we didn't have great pictures this time, but we still try to share the good ones we have in hand. May summer bring you enough inspirations for great trips like us!

Cozy and happy birthday celebration with my family

My birthday just passed a couple of days. I was supposed to post an entry on the right day, yet it was still in my to-do list. I guess now is the time and I need to show my gratitude to my families and friends. I want to tell them I love them.

Cherry Blossom at High Park (Toronto)

The winter is pretty mild this year, so cherry blossoms are blooming a couple of weeks earlier than other years. Visiting High Park around this April, you can immerse into the romantic space of cherry blossoms. In my own opinion, cherry blossoms here in Toronto can't compete the ones in Japan or Korean after viewing same pictures from my friends at those locations. However, I still think they all bring the same joys to viewers. Picking up one petal from the ground, the first feeling comes to mind is "it is too thin and too tender," just like Vietnamese apricot. But it is a completely different story when those vulnerable petals intertwine to each other and ringing in the wind. They now form a wonderful masterpiece of nature. If you are visiting or living in Toronto, you properly won't want to miss this-once-in-a-year-scene.
